DISSEMINATION ACTIVITIES

Dissemination activities are an important part of the ACT Together program. They extend the reach of the project and support the use of its outcomes beyond the immediate group of participants. Through these activities, the knowledge, methods, and practices developed during the program are shared with a wider audience, contributing to stronger and more inclusive youth work.

Objectives of Dissemination Activities

  1. Awareness: Inform youth organizations, schools, local communities, and other stakeholders about the ACT Together Youth Exchange and its focus on environmental awareness, sustainability, and international cooperation.

  2. Knowledge Sharing: Share sustainable practices, ideas, and learning outcomes developed during the exchange, including insights about the environmental history of the world and practical actions that individuals and communities can take to promote sustainability.

  3. Engagement: Encourage dialogue within the wider community by sharing the discussions and perspectives exchanged between participants from different countries. This helps inspire others to reflect on environmental challenges and collaborate on possible solutions.

  4. Sustainability: Support the long-term use of project outcomes by integrating them into existing structures and promoting their adoption by other organizations.

Dissemination ensures that the impact of the ACT Together Youth Exchange continues beyond the project itself. By sharing the sustainable practices, discussions, and knowledge gained during the exchange, participants help inspire others to become more aware of environmental issues and to take action within their own communities.

Ayuntamiento de Cabra

During the YE in Paredes, we could learn about the carbon footprint of the food and how to eat in a responsible and sustainable way. This activity of the exchange is what motivated us to do a responsible cooking workshop in the kitchen of the Youth House of Cabra, and as a proof of the cultural learning we had during the exchange, we decided to make the Portuguese pastéis de nata.

We announced the activity via Instagram on the Youth Department of the Municipality of Cabra and the Youth Correspondents of the Youth Department oIicial profiles.

When we bought all the ingredients, we looked at the origin and the provider of the product, so we could choose a local ingredient, as we were taught at the exchange. During the activity, we talked about the project ACT Together, what we learnt in Paredes, how we chose the ingredients in an eIicient way, about the carbon footprint of the food and responsible consumption. As an example of it, as the recipe of the pastéis de nata requires only the egg yolks, we used the egg whites and the remaining sugar to cook meringues and we used the remaining puI pastry dough to make little puI pastry palms, so we didn't throw to the trash any perishable ingredient. We also used reusable metal molds to bake the pastéis de nata in the oven instead of the 1-use only molds that are used in the bakeries.

The participants could learn in a non-formal way about responsible practices while cooking and shopping for the ingredients, they could learn about the carbon footprint of the food and responsible consumption, all while enjoying the delicious pastéis de nata we cooked. The participants felt integrated, fulfilled and part of the process as everyone helped cooking the recipe, encouraging informal learning by doing. As a result of the cooperative cooking, everyone felt the pastéis de nata as themselves, as we all cooked them. We can say that during the activity, we could all ACT Together.

We got an attendance of 24 people from Cabra and some neighbouring towns. Considering the attendance, the results, the learning acquired and the level of satisfaction of the participants, we take the activity as a success, and we will repeat with more recipes it in the future.

HESSA

The dissemination activity for the Erasmus+ project was organized at the High School Profesor ,,Mihai Dumitriu" Valea Lupului.

In the first part of the dissemination activity, a general overview of our Erasmus+ project was presented, giving participants a comprehensive understanding of the objectives, topics covered, and results achieved. The timeframe of the project was outlined in detail, along with the main activities we took part in, allowing those present to fully grasp the context and significance of the experience we lived through.

In the second part, the spotlight shifted to the city of Porto, Portugal — a vibrant and historically rich city that left a lasting impression on all of us. We introduced the culinary specifics of the region, from traditional Portuguese dishes to the local sweets and desserts that are beloved by locals and visitors alike. Following this, we shared stories from the intercultural evening we attended, a truly memorable experience during which we had the opportunity to discover the authentic traditions, customs, and culture of Portugal.

Through this dissemination activity, the aim was to promote European values and encourage young people to actively engage in international programmes. At the same time, we sought to raise awareness about the concrete benefits of participating in Erasmus+ projects — both on a personal and professional level. The participants showed genuine interest in the topics presented and provided positive feedback, which confirms the value and impact that this type of activity can have within a community.

The dissemination activity of the youth exchange project "Act Together," held in Paredes, Portugal, aimed to share experiences, learning outcomes, and non-formal education methods with students at my local school, promoting teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving skills. The activity involved 18 high school students aged 16–17 and was facilitated by a project participant.

The implemented exercise was a group challenge to build towers using only three materials: pasta (spaghetti), glue, and marshmallow. The objective was to construct the tallest possible tower with the marshmallow placed at the top within a limited time frame. Before starting, the rules and goals were explained, and students were encouraged to plan, collaborate, and share ideas. Divided into small groups, they worked collectively to design, test, and adjust their towers while communicating effectively throughout the process. The activity lasted approximately 40–45 minutes, including introduction, construction, presentation of results, and a reflection discussion.

At the end, the tallest stable tower was recognized, followed by a short reflection session where students discussed strategies, challenges, and lessons learned. The exercise helped students develop teamwork, collaboration, problem-solving, communication, planning, and creative thinking skills. Student feedback was highly positive, with most participants finding the activity fun, engaging, and different from traditional lessons, and many expressing interest in similar activities in the future.

Overall, the dissemination successfully transferred key learning outcomes from the "Act Together" youth exchange to a local school context, raising awareness of non-formal education methods, youth mobility, and international cooperation, while fostering active learning, creativity, and collaboration among young people.

The environmental awareness dissemination activity, carried out as part of an Erasmus+ project in Paredes (Porto), aimed to inform the local population about proper recycling practices and promote the reduction of the community's ecological footprint. As a continuation of knowledge acquired at an international level, the initiative focused on a practical, community-based approach through the distribution of informative flyers and direct personal interaction.

The methodology emphasized proximity and engagement, helping to clarify doubts, debunk common recycling myths, and encourage more sustainable habits. During implementation, active dialogue with citizens was a key element, allowing for the sharing of experiences and adaptation to local needs.

Reflection on the activity highlighted strong community receptiveness and a positive impact on personal skill development, particularly in communication and leadership. In conclusion, the campaign effectively brought the goals of the European Green Deal to the local level, demonstrating that human connection is a powerful tool for environmental education.

The follow-up activity, carried out the project "ACT Together – Awareness, Change & Transformation through Solidarity," took place at Lykeo Apostolou Louka Kollosiou (Kollosi High School) in Cyprus on March 11, involving more than 15 students. This initiative followed a youth exchange held in Paredes, Porto (Portugal), which brought together 25 young participants from Portugal, Cyprus, Romania, Spain, and Türkiye, focusing on environmental awareness and sustainability through experiential learning methods such as collaborative challenges, creative workshops, and reflection sessions.

During the follow-up session, the Cypriot team presented the project's objectives and activities, shared their personal experiences and learning outcomes, and introduced key concepts related to sustainability and environmental responsibility. The activity was designed to be interactive, encouraging discussion and reflection among students.

The initiative successfully raised awareness about environmental issues and sustainable practices, motivated students to adopt more eco-friendly habits in their daily lives, and promoted peer-to-peer learning and active youth participation. It also contributed to the development of participants' communication, presentation, and leadership skills. Additionally, the presenters outlined how they intend to apply and further develop the sustainable practices acquired during the project.

In conclusion, the dissemination activity extended the impact of the original project beyond the initial exchange, reaching the local community and inspiring greater youth involvement in sustainability actions, with special appreciation to Lykeo Apostolou Louka Kollosiou for hosting and supporting the initiative.
